To serve is not about how big your work is!

To serve is not about how big your work is!

This time, the topic will share a basic knowledge for some people, yet is important in our lives. Through the daily life and small things I have been taught a lot about serving. An easy word to pronounce, but most people find it is hard to carry out in their day-to-day journey. Serving has a very close relationship with humbleness. They support one another. Serving others has to come from deep inside our hearts. Some people like to serve when they are entrusted with a big thing. Is that wrong? No, not at all, it is still serving others. However, let’s imagine a moment where someone serves another person just in a small thing, yet it is done sincerely and humbly. Can you imagine if this person is entrusted with a bigger thing??

There are many opportunities in our lives to serve the community or neighborhood or society, but it just disappears when we always wait for something big. What if we start to catch any every opportunity that comes closer to us? The world is waiting for us to change and to move on!

Life is a matter of choice

In the moment this topic was written, I remembered several events at my office lately and it stimulated my curiosity to think, but it might not be an important topic for some people. In the beginning of this year, I saw a number of workers decided to submit a resignation from the company with various reasons. Some say a better opportunity; some say about pursuing a higher education, and so on. For me, at first, it seemed to be a normal cycle in the workplace in the new working year where everyone has made a resolution to progress. Well, I did have a conversation with some of them about their plan and the reason of their resignation. When they made a decision, it means that they are going to accept any consequences that might appear along the journey. It is really good for us when we can really maturely accept and learn from the consequences, thus we can move on with a better mindset. However, it will be contradictory when we cannot accept it. Why is that?? I’ll take an example, a person who is always trying to find the best place to work so that he can be very happy or comfort with the job. When this person doesn’t find as what he expects from the company he is working for, he will probably trying to find another “airport” to land on, a place where he thinks that is better from several points of view of his or others. Is that thing going to give him a time for relax and provide him with things he expects? Temporarily yes, but not for a long time because everything is just going to be back as what he experienced before.

How could it be? Well, life is a like a game with many stages to finish. As we pass the current level we are going to be challenged with a higher one since our capacities are growing up. So when we face a problem and we decide to skip it or leave it behind it doesn’t mean that the problem is finish. The problem will come to us just in a different form or different situation that will require us to finish it so that we can move to the next one. The decision is in us whether to face and conquer it or to stay at the same level for the entire of our lives. I didn’t say that we cannot move to find a better one, but before that happens we need to learn about responsibility in things we are entrusted now. Dare to dream, set the goals, plan it well then execute it! The execution process will not be easy, some or even many problems will visit us frequently. Again, it will challenge us to make a decision..

Eventually, it is so true to say “think wisely before decide” as what we decide will possibly bring us to any good or bad moments.
